What we review
Community submissions remain pending until reviewed. Review may consider relevance to Canadian brand history, source/provenance, contributor rights, privacy, factual context, file safety and overall archive quality.
What may be declined or removed
We may decline or remove material where rights are unclear, the content is unrelated or misleading, private information is exposed without appropriate justification, the file creates a security concern, or we otherwise determine that publication is inappropriate for the archive.
Reporting a concern
Email info@lostcanadianbrands.ca with the page URL or archive item, a description of the concern, the basis for your request, and reliable contact information. If the request concerns copyright, trademark or another legal right, identify the work or right involved and explain your relationship to it.
Our review process
We may acknowledge the request, seek additional information, temporarily restrict the material, review available records and contributor information, and then retain, edit, restrict or remove the item as appropriate. We may preserve internal records of the request and decision where reasonably necessary.
Corrections
Historical disagreements do not always require removal. Where appropriate, we may correct an entry, add context, identify uncertainty or document differing accounts.
Contributor cooperation
Contributors may be contacted if a question arises about provenance, permission or factual context. Failure to provide sufficient information may result in material remaining unpublished or being removed.
